Last Weekend, a small piece of paper made me very embarrassed.
I went to a supermarket. After I paid the bill and was passing through the door, the alarm suddenly rang. It was loud enough to wake the dead. I got a terrible shock. In no time a young security man ran towards me, and ordered me to follow him. I felt so upset and I was puzzled. I didn't move until the young security man had asked me several more times.
He wanted me to go into a small room, but I was so scared that I stopped at the door. Finding me unwilling to enter the room, he shouted. I had to go into the room.
They closed the door. I was so scared that they were going to hurt me. Suddenly, a sharp voice said in my ear:
"Take out the things you have stolen!"
"I stole nothing," I said.
"Do as I told you. If we find them, you'll be in trouble."
"There's nothing," I answered. "I didn't take anything. I swear," I said, taking everything out of my pockets and bag.
But they didn't believe that I hadn't stolen anything. So the young security man ordered me to pass through the door alarm again. I did.
At this point, a security man came in with an electronic device in his hand. They asked a salesgirl to examine me. Needless to say, they found nothing.
I was shocked when it rang again. I felt wronged and burst into tears. I didn't know how to prove that I was innocent.
They made me go into the small room once more.
"Take out the stolen things quickly or we will dial 110," they said.
"Ok, call the police. I'm not afraid." I said forcefully.
"In fact, we don't want to call the police," they said. Suddenly, they changed their tone. But, they still wouldn't let me go.
After a while, a salesgirl asked me to raise my feet. I did as she had told me. There was a label on the bottom of my shoe. That's it! That's the very thing that had brought me such great trouble. But it proved my innocence.
After that, they apologized to me in the small room. But they should have apologized in public, shouldn't they? A lot of people had seen me, what did they think of me?
This incident showed that shops should respect the customers even if they are suspected to be thiefs. Otherwise, the shops will bring misfortune and suffering on their customers.
