The lyrics of this song come from a poem written by Wang Pingjiu, an employee with the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. CCTV anchorman Bai Yansong read the poem live on May 14. Bai said before reading: "I hope I can finish reading it without crying." He did, but it had millions of TV viewers to tears. Jackie Chan's gentle but masculine voice perfectly fits this encouraging song.
