Dogs become civil servants

Police dogs should be considered civil servants and any act of violence against them will merit the same punishment as those on human police, Norway's Supreme Court ruled Thursday. This rule followed the release of a man who was earlier charged with attacking a civil servant after he struck a police dog last year. The defendant now risks up to 3 years behind bars.
